How do I stop being Gay?

In 1 Corinthians chapter 6 it lists those that have denied God, including homosexuals, and then in verse 11 it says something very interesting.  It says to the Christians in Corinth that some of them had been so disposed but were not now.  They had denied God with homosexual practices but had stopped.  What you need to realize here is that it does not say that they were no longer tempted.  I have no doubt that the temptaion remained but temptation is not the same thing as sin.

(Heb 4:15) "For we do not have a high priest who cannot be touched with the feelings of our infirmities, but was in all points tempted just as we are, yet without sin."

Christ is our high priest and he was tempted but he chose to be righteous and not sin.   (Heb 2:18) "For in that He Himself has suffered, having been tempted, He is able to rescue those who are being tempted."

We also have the promise that we will not have more temptation than we can withstand.  (1Co 10:13) "No temptation has taken you but what is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but with the temptation also will make a way to escape, so that you may be able to bear it."  It is for us to choice to be righteous, as our savior did, knowing that he will be there to help us.  We may not be able to remain celebrate on our own but when we trust in him we have his strength and he was strong enough to resist all temptation.

What ever you do don't blame it on the way you were born because God did not do anything to you to make you sin.  (Jas 1:13) "Let no one being tempted say, I am tempted from God. For God is not tempted by evils, and He tempts no one."  He doesn't do that.

That's not to say that not practicing homosexuality will be easy, especially if you are already active.  The temptations will still be there.  It is the nature of man to have to deal with his/her mortality.  Romans 7:5 & 6 says, "For when we were in the flesh, the passions of sin worked in our members through the law to bring forth fruit to death.
But now we having been set free from the Law, having died to that in which we were held, so that we serve in newness of spirit and not in oldness of the letter."  So, yes, our body is at war with our desire to be righteous but it is a war we can win.

To stop being Gay you have to stop having sexual intercourse with people of the same sex.  That it can be hard to stop being gay is not in doubt, but it is possible to resist the sin.  The final result is worth it.  (Jas 1:12) "Blessed is the man who endures temptation, because having been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love him."
