I WANT TO GO TO HEAVEN

 

Introduction

1. One of two places.  Mt 25:46

2. Three heavens: birds fly, planets, where God is.  2 Cor. 12:2,4; Rev. 2:7; Mt. 5:16; 12:48-50; Jn 6:38

3. It is a real place. Jn 14:1-3

 

Discussion

1. DISCRIPTION

Rev. 21:22-27; 21:4 no temple because no sin there.

 

2. IT IS BETTER.  Phil 1:23

a. Because we will see and be with Jesus. Jn. 14:2-3

b. Be through with sin. Rom 7:24

c. No sorrow and tears. Rev. 21:4

d. Rest. Rev. 14:13; Mt. 11:28-30

e. Gain the victory. 2 Tim. 4:8; 1 Cor. 15:57

 

3. WHY WOULD I WANT TO GO THERE?

a. If I don’t love things here that will be there? God’s word, power, love, the church.

b. Church prepares us: attitude, temperament, character.

 

4. I WANT TO GO THERE BECAUSE:

a. I want to miss hell.  It is a place. Acts 1:25

b. Of who will be there.  Real people: Jesus, Enoch, Elijah, Lazarus, Abraham. Lk 16:28;                  13:28; friends, loved ones.

c. Of what will be there.

Rev. 21:27; 1 Cor. 13:13

d. Longings of my soul can be satisfied in no other way. Heb. 11:10, 14

 

Conclusion

1. I want you to go to heaven too.  Rom 10:1

2. Who will go there?

a. Not all religious people.  Mt. 7:21

b. Sincere people.  Acts 23:1

c. Rev. 22:14

3. We must travel the road that leads there.  Mt. 7:13-14
