I have a friend that believes that God would not allow a person to be a pathological liar because ""God would not give a person a disease that would hinder them from going to heaven."" I believe that God gives us freewill and therefore would not give someone a disease such as a pathological lying. My question is can you give me some scriptural advice on how to respond to this statement??
By Bill Gardner We need to go to the Scriptures to find out that there are two forces in this world. One is good, whom we call GOD, who cannot lie or even tolerate lying. Titus 1:2 The other force is evil, whom we call the DEVIL or the Father of Lies. John 8:44.
You have made an assumption that lying is a disease. The Bible calls it a sin not a disease. God wants us all to be saved and have abundant blessings in this lifetime. John 10:10. The devil wants bad things to happen to us like he did to Job.
Maybe as an individual who can choose to do good or evil, it is MY choice to "lie" and not God placing that in front of me. Remember the devil is working against all good. But I can have comfort that God is working for me and my good.
